A Review of “The Good Wife’s Guide” by Darlene Schacht

I just finished reading “A Good Wife’s Guide” by Darlene Schacht and it was right down my alley! The book is a perfect mixture of spiritual applications for the Christian wife and practical advice for home keeping. In a world of modern feminism it is refreshing to see voices that advocate putting God and family first.

In the forward, by Candace Cameron-Bure, she tells the reader:
When a family unit functions the way God outlines it in scripture where a man and woman are given separate roles, the family works like a well-oiled machine.

Thus Candace aptly sets the tone for the book. Reading further Darlene tells us that “[Her] goal is to encourage you to make faith and family your first priorities from a place of sacrificial love.” From beginning to end this book is filled with both scripture and common sense based truths; truths that, if your heart is willing, may just bring you closer to God.
